KEMP BATTLE

Kemp Battle.jpg

Kemp Battle works with organizations to build compelling strategies and institutional capacity. Individuals, whether they serve in the board room or the mail room, make an impact when they can clearly see themselves in the work of their organization. Battle helps teams identify their own internalized understanding of what is truly at stake not only for themselves, but for the system they serve. Unexpected and amazing synergies happen when people wake to their self-responsibility and commit to a shared focus.

Battle helps conceive, build and launch initiatives that can drive organizational sustainability and promote profitable growth. Acquisitions, joint ventures, partnerships or internal start-ups, when conceived and skillfully negotiated, can rapidly accelerate an organization’s impact. His passion for structuring innovative public-private partnerships, as well incubating ambitious initiatives inside larger organizations, has animated his approach to the work. (See Case Studies.)

Battle is also fluent in strategic planning, brand management and group facilitation. His clients include high profile brands (Amazon, Blair Corp., The National Geographic Society, PBS, Sesame Workshop, Smithsonian Enterprises, Time-Life, Torstar, the Walt Disney Companies), global educators (American Council on Education, GED Testing Service, Northeastern University, Pearson, Scholastic) as well as emergent organizations (DNA Direct, Genetic Alliance, GenomeWeb) among others. He serves on the boards of GenomeWeb, (NY, NY), Genetic Alliance, (Washington, DC) and GED Testing Service (Minneapolis, MN.) For over two decades, he was a Managing Director at Tucker Capital Corp, an investment banking firm in Princeton, NJ, where he continues to advise on select matters. He has also served on the board of Pallium India USA, The Academy of American Poets and The Birds of North America. He has worked joyfully with Leaders Quest as an Associate on quests to India, Nigeria, China, Kenya and South Africa (www.leadersquest.org ). He received his certification in Palliative Care while serving as a hospice volunteer at Pallium in Kerala, India in 2013. He earned his BA from Harvard College with honors and is the author of Great American Folklore (Doubleday), Hearts of Fire (Crown) and The Flame Keepers (Hyperion).
